Team Building Event IBB Ing.-Büro Bickman
As a team guide for CityHunters, I led an exciting iPad Murder Mystery Tour on September 1, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. for 18 colleagues from IBB Ing.-Büro Bickman in Rees. The meeting point was the market in the heart of the city, where I greeted the group, gave a brief introduction to the iPads and explained the teams. Three teams then set off on their own mission: score as many points as possible.
The mood was instantly positive: the weather was on our side and provided a pleasant backdrop for the tour. Using the app and the digital map, the teams made their way to various locations around Rees. Our route passed well-known sights like the Rheinbrücke Rees-Kalkar, the historic Scholten-Mühle and the impressive St. Mariä Himmelfahrt. The scenery and architecture repeatedly sparked curiosity and added motivation during the challenges.
Points were earned through a mix of tricky puzzles and active team tasks — creativity, communication and speed were rewarded. It was especially nice to see colleagues who don't usually work together finding solutions and supporting one another. That is genuine team building experience in Rees: fun and cooperation combined with thrilling murder mystery action.
Throughout the tour I was available by phone for questions but deliberately stayed in the background so the teams could operate independently. After exactly three hours everyone returned to the market for the awards ceremony. Faces were beaming — winners and losers alike had fun, and there was lots of laughter and conversation.
For me this event was a perfect example of how team building experience in Rees can succeed in a playful and lasting way. The combination of a digital Scavenger Hunt, exciting cases and the charming spots around the city — from the Koenraad-Bosman-Museum to the narrow lanes around the market — makes the iPad Murder Mystery Tour a special experience.
I am already looking forward to the next group and invite everyone to rediscover Rees and experience team building experience in Rees in an energetic, joyful way!
