Team Building Event REESE Ingenieure GmbH & Co. KG
Seventy-two motivated colleagues from REESE Ingenieure GmbH & Co. KG met on August 31, 2023 at 12:30 PM for a shared challenge — ready for a special team building experience in Old Town.
As the CityHunters team guide I welcomed the group at the back of St. Peter's Church, gave a brief introduction and divided everyone into 11 teams. After a short briefing each team received a tablet with the CityHunters app preinstalled. That marked the start of the Geocaching adventure: coordinates, exciting puzzles and varied team challenges led the groups across the city center.
Our route combined classic sights with the city's hidden corners. The teams discovered charming spots between the Speicherstadt and the Elbphilharmonie, admired the architecture of the Chilehaus and solved tricky tasks on site. The mix of navigation, problem-solving and creativity turned the event into a genuine experience — perfect for a team building experience in Old Town.
During the three hours the teams moved around independently and competed in friendly rivalry for the highest score. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles, successful team tasks and clever observations. I was reachable by phone the entire time to help with technical questions or uncertainties. This balance of freedom and support created a lot of motivation and collective effort.
The weather was on our side — pleasant and ideal for a stroll through the city; perfect for strengthening team dynamics outdoors. It was particularly gratifying to see how quickly collaboration and open communication among colleagues deepened. That is exactly what makes a team building experience in Old Town so valuable: fun, curiosity and shared successes.
After three hours we met again at the back of St. Peter's Church for the awards ceremony. The top three teams received medals and their achievements were celebrated appropriately. This Geocaching event was an impressive combination of urban exploration, competition and a team building experience in Old Town — an afternoon that will be remembered fondly for a long time.
