Team Building Event Spectaris e.V.
The concept of our event is simple: Geocaching combines adventure, puzzle fun and shared experiences into a genuine team building experience in Mitte.
As the team guide I welcomed 26 engaged participants from Spectaris e.V. at the Palais am Festungsgraben on August 31, 2023 at 10:00. After a warm introduction I explained the schedule and rules, handed out tablets preloaded with the CityHunters app, and got the teams ready to go. We formed four teams, who then set off on the tour through the city.
The route led the groups to both well known and lesser known spots in Mitte — past the Brandenburg Gate, with views of the Reichstag building and on toward Museum Island. At each stop they faced tricky puzzles and creative team challenges that earned points. The tasks demanded communication, logical thinking and the courage to try unconventional ideas — exactly what a good team building experience in Mitte promotes.
Over the three hours the teams were largely left to their own devices and competed against each other in a friendly rivalry. I was available by phone to help with technical questions or uncertainties, but deliberately kept the role of a companion so the groups could develop their solutions independently. That kept the atmosphere relaxed while the competitive spirit was clearly present.
The weather cooperated, the sun guiding the teams across cobblestones and through lively side streets. Laughter, quick strategy huddles by the roadside and the shared cheer when a particularly tough puzzle was solved were just as much a part of the day as exchanging observations about the Berlin Cathedral or sharing little anecdotes about the history of the places we passed.
After three hours everyone met back at the Palais am Festungsgraben for the award ceremony. In a short debrief and to much applause the scores were announced — a fitting end to an eventful morning. Many participants spoke of lasting cohesion and new perspectives on one another.
This Geocaching format offers a vibrant form of team building experience in Mitte: it blends playful competition, city exploration and genuine team spirit into an experience that resonates long after it ends.
