Team Building Event IBB Dortmund
Dortmund offers a lively mix of history, urban life and unexpected discoveries, and that is exactly what I experienced as a CityHunters team guide on August 30, 2023.
At 11:00 the 12 participants from IBB Dortmund met me at Hansaplatz, ready for an exciting Murder Mystery Geocaching. After a short introduction the groups were split into two teams and equipped with tablets and the specially prepared app. The mood was expectant and focused — perfect conditions for an active team building experience in Dortmund.
On the tour through the city the teams worked independently and faced off against each other in a friendly competition. Points were awarded for correctly solving puzzles and for successfully completing team tasks. The challenges led the groups to well known spots such as Dortmund Central Station, the imposing St. Reinoldi Church and past the German Football Museum — landmarks that playfully became scenes of the investigation. The weather was fine and the pleasant coolness helped keep everyone motivated.
Throughout the two hours I was reachable by phone in case questions or minor issues came up, and I supported the teams remotely with tips and food for thought. Still there was plenty of room for individual strategies, communication and fun — exactly the ingredients that make a successful team building experience in Dortmund. The mix of puzzle fun, local exploration and team tasks naturally encouraged dialogue and collaboration.
After exactly two hours we met again at Hansaplatz for the award ceremony. During the debrief there was laughter, reflection and celebration of the cleverest solutions. The joy over a successful team performance and the tangible closeness within the groups were the most memorable moments of the day for me.
This Murder Mystery Geocaching showed once again how effective and entertaining a team building experience in Dortmund can be. If you want to discover the city from a new perspective while strengthening team spirit at the same time this is the perfect choice. I look forward to the next Murder Mystery Geocaching in Dortmund.
