Team Building Event Heidelberg Materials AG
The event concept combines city exploration, puzzle fun and teamwork into an interactive Geocaching experience.
On 19 July 2023 at 3:30 pm I had the pleasure of welcoming 32 colleagues from Heidelberg Materials AG at Universitätsplatz as a CityHunters team guide. After a short introduction we explained the schedule, handed out tablets with the CityHunters app and split the group into five teams. The mood was immediately great — ideal for a team building experience in Heidelberg.
Using the coordinates on their tablets, the teams set off independently on their tour through Heidelberg's Old Town. Along the way they faced tricky puzzles, codes and creative team challenges centered on sights like Heidelberg Castle, the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Old Bridge. Each station demanded observation and collaboration — exactly what an effective team building experience in Heidelberg is all about.
During the three-hour tour the teams competed for the highest score. Points were awarded for correctly solving tasks and for original team solutions. I remained available by phone as a team guide in case questions or technical problems arose — that way I could handle quick inquiries without interrupting the flow of the game.
The weather was decent and, with pleasant warmth, added to the positive experience: no rain, enough sunshine to lift spirits and perfect conditions to enjoy the city. The mix of healthy competitiveness, laughter during the tasks and exploring together made the event lively and bonding.
After exactly three hours all teams reconvened at Universitätsplatz for the awards ceremony. While the scores were tallied the suspense lasted until the end — then there were warm congratulations, photos and high praise for everyone involved. Moments like these show how lasting a team building experience in Heidelberg can be.
As a guide I really enjoyed how quickly the colleagues bonded and how much fun it was to discover Heidelberg together. Geocaching is a wonderful way to strengthen team dynamics and see the city from new perspectives.
