Team Building Event Mitsubishi Heavy Industries EMEA Ltd.
Our event concept combines adventure, puzzle fun and shared experiences into a lively team building experience: Geocaching through the city with a competitive edge and plenty of fun.
On July 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM I had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 27 participants from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries EMEA Ltd. in Erlangen as a CityHunters team guide. The meeting point was on Main Street – we began with a short introduction, distributed the necessary devices and explained the process as well as the CityHunters app that guided the teams through the tasks.
The group was divided into four teams and set off. The team building experience in Erlangen became evident straight away: each team moved independently, exploring the city center, solving puzzles and mastering creative team tasks. Points were awarded for correct answers and successful team performances – and the friendly competition provided plenty of motivation and laughter.
Along the route we passed well-known places such as Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, the Botanical Garden and the Huguenot Church, which provided the setting for exciting challenges and surprising discoveries. The mix of navigation, reasoning and collective decision-making promoted exactly what the team building experience in Erlangen is all about: closeness, communication and shared feelings of achievement.
I was reachable by phone throughout the tour in case teams needed assistance, but intentionally stayed in the background so the groups could develop their own strategies. The weather cooperated, which lifted spirits and made the city feel even more inviting.
After three hours all teams returned to the starting point on Main Street for the award ceremony. The excitement and joy at the announcement of the results were clearly visible – and regardless of the rankings togetherness was what mattered most. Events like this are a wonderful example of how a successful team building experience in Erlangen combines fun, discovery and lasting team moments.
I am already looking forward to the next time we explore the city together and help new teams build strong bonds.
