Murder Mystery Geocaching combines exciting investigative work with modern technology and a fresh way to explore the city, making it an ideal team building experience in Frankfurt.
On June 22, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. I had the pleasure of guiding a special event for Corporate Event Solutions GmbH. Twenty-two participants gathered punctually at Friedrich-Stoltze-Platz, were warmly welcomed and, after a short introduction, divided into four teams. The excitement was tangible, as everyone was eager to experience the city as the stage for a participatory murder mystery.
Equipped with tablets and our specially developed app, the teams set off. The route led across Frankfurt past landmarks such as the Römer, the Kaiserdom St. Bartholomäus and the Alte Oper — places that suddenly became crime scenes and key clue locations. Technology and adventure complemented each other perfectly: the app guided the groups, presented puzzles and tasks, and provided plenty of variety.
During the roughly three-hour tour, the teams were on their own in a sportsmanlike competition to score the most points. Points were earned by correctly solving puzzles and completing collaborative team tasks — creativity, communication and team spirit mattered more than speed alone. I was reachable by phone throughout the entire game and assisted with questions or technical issues whenever support was needed.
The weather cooperated, the sun accompanied our sleuthing through Frankfurt and contributed to a buoyant atmosphere. After exactly three hours everyone reconvened at Friedrich-Stoltze-Platz for the joint awards ceremony. Looking at the results it became clear that every team won through collaboration and fun.
These kinds of activities show how effective and entertaining a team building experience in Frankfurt can be. For me as a team guide days like this are particularly rewarding when colleagues solve puzzles together, laugh and leave with new connections.
