The sun shone all morning, providing perfect weather for an exciting murder mystery day in Northeim. On June 21, 2023 at 09:00 I welcomed the employees of Finanz Informatik GmbH & Co. KG as team guide: 43 motivated participants gathered at Hotel FREIgeist Northeim, where our joint iPad Murder Mystery Tour began.
After a brief introduction I split the group into seven teams and explained how to use the iPads and the scoring system. The challenges ranged from tricky puzzles to creative team tasks, with points awarded for correct answers and clever collaboration. The app guided the groups by map to different stations and activated criminal cases as soon as they came close enough, turning Northeims historic center into an exciting playground.
During the tour the teams were left to their own devices and competed against each other in good spirit. I remained reachable by phone in case of technical questions or small queries. That kind of independent work really strengthens bonds: developing strategies together, assigning roles and finding solutions quickly is exactly what a team building experience in Northeim is about.
The route took the groups past some of the most beautiful spots in the city. They passed the impressive facade of the Benedictine monastery St. Blasius, wound through historic alleys and discovered visible traces of the Theater der Nacht, experiencing Northeim from a completely new perspective. Encounters with the citys history like these make the team building experience in Northeim particularly memorable.
After exactly three hours all teams regrouped at Hotel FREIgeist Northeim for the awards ceremony. The mood was fantastic: joy over solved cases, laughter about unusual ideas and pride in shared achievements. The teams finishing first to third were awarded medals and celebrated accordingly.
As a team guide it was a pleasure to see how much fun the groups had and how much the team spirit grew. The iPad Murder Mystery Tour combines puzzle fun with an active exploration of the city, making it an ideal format for a team building experience in Northeim. I look forward to more discoveries and to new groups who want to get to know Northeim in this lively way.
