Team Building Event Ingredion GmbH
Old Town blends history, waterways and lively neighborhoods into an experience best discovered together.
As a CityHunters team guide, I had the pleasure of leading a fantastic iPad Tour for colleagues from Ingredion GmbH on 31 May 2023 at 4:30 pm. The meeting point was Der Player on Bahrenfelder Straße, where I warmly welcomed the 12 participants and gave a brief introduction to the tech and the rules. The mood was immediately open and curious — an ideal setting for a team building experience in Old Town.
The group was split into two teams. With an iPad each and our CityHunters app at the center, we kicked off the high-tech Scavenger Hunt: solving puzzles, completing team tasks and collecting points — all visible in real time and fueled by a healthy competitive spirit. The teams were left to their own devices and could decide their strategy; I was reachable by phone if help was needed and enjoyed the occasional cheerful update.
We used the roughly two and a half hours to explore Old Town in a new way: checkpoints led to architectural highlights and well-known spots that participants began to see with fresh eyes. Between the Elbphilharmonie, Speicherstadt and the main church St. Michaelis, exciting moments arose that encouraged both creativity and collaboration. The tasks combined local impressions with digital challenges — exactly the mix that makes a modern team building event in Old Town.
The weather cooperated, the sun accompanied us for most of the route and lifted everyone’s spirits. After about 2.5 hours we all met back at the starting point for the awards ceremony. The winner was not just the team with the most points but the entire group: more togetherness, new anecdotes and plenty of laughs.
A team building experience in Old Town works best when play, the city and team spirit come together. These shared moments stay with you for a long time and invite you to rediscover the city again and again.
