Team Building Event Springer Nature BV
Perfect weather accompanied us that afternoon and set the mood in Heidelberg's Old Town.
On May 25, 2023 at 3:00 PM I met as a CityHunters team guide with 11 participants from Springer Nature BV at University Square. After a short welcome and briefing, we explained the procedure and gave each team a tablet with our CityHunters app so everyone was well equipped for the tour. We then split the group into three teams and sent them off with clear tasks on the route — thus beginning a lively team building experience in Heidelberg.
During the tour the teams were on their own and competed in a friendly rivalry to score the most points. Points were awarded for correctly solving puzzles and mastering joint team tasks: sometimes it required logic, sometimes creativity and sometimes careful observation on site. The challenges led to well-known sights such as Heidelberg Castle, the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Old Bridge, but also to lovely, lesser-known corners of the city. I remained reachable by phone throughout in case any questions or technical issues arose.
It was impressive to see how quickly individual colleagues became real teams: communication, brainstorming and mutual support were the focus. Laughter, little aha moments and a palpable shared energy made the team building experience in Heidelberg an intense experience. After about two hours all groups returned to University Square, where we counted the points and gathered for the joint award ceremony.
The award ceremony was a joyful finale: recognition for special achievements, some victorious cheers and a chance to share the tour's highlights. Geocaching and city puzzles are a wonderful way to rediscover the city while strengthening team spirit. This event once again showed how much potential a well-organized team building experience in Heidelberg has — a recommendation for anyone who wants to combine fun, activity and lasting camaraderie.
