Team Building Event DEVK Versicherungen Sach- & HUK VVaG
The 130 participants from DEVK Versicherungen met punctually on 12 May 2023 at 1:00 p.m. for our iPad Tour — a great start to an afternoon full of team spirit.
As the team guide I welcomed the group in DEVK's building on Riehler Straße, gave a short introduction to the CityHunters app and explained how things would work: each team received an iPad as the centerpiece of the tour, a brief briefing, and then off they went. In total we formed 19 teams, all eager and curious to dive into the adventure.
Our route led across the city center of Cologne and featured landmarks like the Cologne Cathedral, the Hohenzollern Bridge and the Museum Ludwig as an impressive backdrop for the challenges. On the iPad Tour city exploration and playful learning come together — which is exactly what makes our team building event so effective as a team building experience in Cologne.
During the tour the teams were left to their own devices and competed in friendly rivalry for the highest score. Points were awarded for correctly solving puzzles and completing joint team tasks that encouraged observation, creativity and cooperation. I remained reachable by phone throughout and provided support with questions or technical issues.
The weather cooperated, the mood was cheerful and engaged — ideal conditions for a genuine team building experience in Cologne. The mix of technology, spatial orientation and team tasks produced many smiling faces, surprising ideas and good conversations among colleagues.
After three hours everyone reconvened at the DEVK building for the award ceremony. The top three places were honored with medals, and the winners' beaming faces were an inspiration for all involved. Moments like these show how successfully run events strengthen connections.
