Team Building Event Siemens Healthineers GmbH
Bright sunshine accompanied our tour on May 3, 2023, at 3:30 PM, when, as the CityHunters team guide, I welcomed a group of 11 colleagues from Siemens Healthineers GmbH at Hugenottenplatz in Erlangen.
After a brief introduction and an explanation of the rules, participants received the tools and tips they needed for the CityHunters app. The group was split into two teams and set off full of energy on the scavenger hunt. Our Geocaching took the teams through Erlangen’s charming city center, past landmarks such as Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, the Botanical Garden Erlangen and the Huguenot Church. Puzzles and team tasks awaited them at every stop, each offering points to be won.
During the tour the teams were on their own and competed against each other in a friendly contest. Creative approaches, clear communication and a keen eye were needed — exactly what a team building experience in Erlangen makes so valuable. As guide I was reachable by phone for questions or technical issues, but I deliberately stayed in the background so the groups could develop their own strategies.
The tasks combined tricky puzzles with small challenges that promoted collaboration. It was wonderful to see so many different strengths come into play: ideas were shared, tasks divided and successes celebrated together. The Geocaching format ensures that a team building experience in Erlangen is not only effective but also great fun.
After exactly three hours all teams met back at Hugenottenplatz for the joint award ceremony. Spirits were high, the sun continued to shine, and the pride in the teams’ accomplishments was palpable. Moments like these — the shared wonder at a beautiful spot, the brief competition, the final laughter — stay with you for a long time.
For me this afternoon was a perfect example of how experience-based activities strengthen team spirit while giving a fresh view of the city of Erlangen.
