Team Building Event Polizeipräsidium Dortmund
Dortmund showed its lively, urban side that day – despite rain and a cool wind the city was full of energy and ready for an exciting experience.
On 28 April 2023 at 12:00 PM I, as team guide, welcomed 13 participants from the Dortmund Police Headquarters at Hansaplatz. After a short greeting and introduction we split the group into two teams. The anticipation was palpable: a case was waiting to be solved, and everyone was motivated to give their all during the team building experience in Dortmund.
Our Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt blends technology and adventure: each team received a tablet with our app showing the next crime scenes and tasks. As they moved through Dortmund the teams passed well-known spots like Dortmund Central Station, St. Reinoldi Church and the German Football Museum. At each station they collected clues, solved puzzles and allocated team tasks wisely.
The teams were left to their own devices during the tour and competed in a friendly race for the highest score. Points were earned for correctly solved puzzles and successful team tasks. I remained available by phone in case of technical questions or clarifications – a quick bit of support and then back to the investigations.
The weather challenged us but also added momentum to the game: drizzle and fresh air created an authentic investigative atmosphere and gave the teams an extra push. The mood and team cohesion benefited from it – these exact challenges are what make a successful team building experience in Dortmund.
After three hours the teams regrouped at Hansaplatz for the awards ceremony. While reviewing the collected clues and announcing the points there was great excitement and much praise for creative solutions and teamwork. Moments like these show how much shared puzzle solving brings people together.
This Murder Mystery Geocaching is an ideal format for a team building experience in Dortmund: it combines city exploration, team spirit and plenty of fun. I am glad the Dortmund Police Headquarters participated with such commitment — an enjoyable, instructive afternoon that will be remembered for a long time.
