Team Building Event cbs Corporate Business Solutions GmbH
On 20 April 2023 at 2:00 PM I had the pleasure of guiding a special event for cbs Corporate Business Solutions GmbH: an iPad Murder Mystery Tour for 25 participants in Heidelberg. The meeting point was Universitaetsplatz, where I warmly welcomed everyone and divided them into four teams.
After a short introduction to the CityHunters app and an explanation of the iPad with its map view and location tracking, the teams set off on their own search for clues. The iPads led the groups to various locations in the city — past Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg, Heidelberg Castle and the Old Bridge — and presented criminal cases to be solved together.
The concept combines playful thrills with an effective team building experience: points were awarded for correctly solving puzzles and for successfully completing team tasks. While the teams competed for the highest score, I was available by phone to help with questions or technical issues. The real-time features of the iPads provided transparency and an extra competitive edge.
The weather was changeable, but the light rain and fresh air did nothing to dampen the mood — if anything, the special atmosphere strengthened the team spirit and made the tour an intense experience. The team building experience in Heidelberg took on a lively, memorable quality.
After about three hours everyone met back at Universitaetsplatz for the awards ceremony. When the scores were tallied it became clear how much the activity had fostered collaboration: creative problem solving, clear communication and shared joy in success were at the center — exactly what a good team building experience in Heidelberg is all about.
The combination of a gripping crime plot, modern technology and the city’s historical charm makes this tour an ideal option for company events or a company outing.
