As a CityHunters team guide, on 17 April 2023 at 5:30 pm I had the pleasure of leading an iPad Tour for six participants from AstraZeneca GmbH (in cooperation with SÜDWEST PRESSE and Hapag‑Lloyd travel agency) in Weimar. The meeting point was the reception of the famous Elephant Hotel on the Market Square, where I welcomed everyone and gave a brief introduction to the technology and the schedule.
After the briefing I split the group into two teams. Each person received an iPad and we launched the CityHunters app — modern technology meeting the citys rich history. The tasks led participants past well‑known sites such as the Duchess Anna Amalia Library, the Goethe‑Schiller Monument and the German National Theatre. This turned exploring the city into a playful team building experience in Weimar.
During the tour the teams were on their own and competed against each other in friendly rivalry. Points were awarded for correctly solving puzzles and completing joint team challenges; creativity, observation and good coordination paid off. I stayed reachable by phone in case anyone needed help — quick questions were handled easily.
The weather cooperated and created a pleasant atmosphere that enhanced the shared experience. The combination of culture, stories and interactive tasks clearly showed how effective a team building experience in Weimar can be: you discover the city anew while strengthening team cohesion.
After about two hours everyone reconvened at the reception of the Elephant Hotel on the Market Square for the awards ceremony. In a short debrief we shared highlights, laughed about anecdotes and celebrated the winning team. Moments like these make a team building event especially valuable.
For me as a guide it is always a joy to see how quickly teams open up, find solutions together and simply have fun. An iPad Tour in Weimar combines technology, culture and team spirit in an entertaining and lasting way — ideal conditions for a successful team building experience in Weimar.
